Soapmaking in France

July 14th- July 18th 2008 & September 17th - 21st 2008

This three day course enables you to experiment with both cold process bar soapmaking and liquid soapmaking. There is also a half day included for business studies where we can discuss your individual situation. The course is in English but we do have limited french and our french participants have managed well.

You arrive on the 14th July (17th Sep), and on the 15th July (18th Sep) we will be making bar soap from scratch using the cold process method. This enables you to make mild, glycerine rich soaps with entirely natural ingredients.

On the 16th July (19th Sep), we will cut your bar soaps and make a batch of completely natural liquid soap.

On the 17th July (20th Sep) we will spend the day discussing the business side of soapmaking, European cosmetic legislation, marketing, packaging and plenty of time for questions and answers, hopefully around the pool or in a cafe in the market square in Monpazier.

On the 18th July (21st Sep) we are off duty and you can take it easy until whenever in the day you wish to wind your way home.

And we will drink a lot of wine and have some fun and you will go home with all the soaps you have made.

Why not stay on for a few days and experience the markets and wonderful restaurants the area has to offer?

The course price is £415.00 per person and includes: 4 nights b&b accommodation at Larocal or (depending on numbers) at a nearby Chambre d'hote. (private bathroom or shower room) and a cold lunch.

Course papers including supplier contact details, software where appropriate.

Lifts to and from Bergerac airport can be arranged if required.

The course does not include: Flights or personal travel insurance (which is obligatory) or evening meals but there are plenty of good local restaurants within a short drive.

Non- participating partners sharing a room with a participant can be accommodated for the whole trip for £80 per person.

You can fly to Bergerac airport with Ryanair or Flybe from various airports in the UK including Stansted, Gatwick,Southampton, Birmingham, Exeter & Bristol. We are a 20 minute drive from the airport. For directions from the airport click here
